Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa Limited (MRoA) has been operating in South Africa for over 50 years, although the Munich Re (Group) was active on the Continent through Munich Re in Munich for some years before commencing the Southern African operation in Johannesburg in 1968.

The Head Office of MRoA is in Johannesburg, with a client service Life office situated in Cape Town.

Your job

• At Munich Re of Africa, you will:
• Take part in Soft Skills and Technical training
• Conduct daily department specific tasks
• Participate in team specific tasks and deliverables
• Participate in crossdivisional project teams
• Participate in team and Company Business Projects (where applicable)

TRAINING EXPOSURE MAY INCLUDE (department dependent):

• Transform client data into a useable format for analysis
• Derive rates from pricing bases given a set of assumptions to use
• Calculate group risk quotes, for all benefits, using the tools provided
• Understand the modelling and pricing of transactions
• Risk identification, assessing, reporting and documenting
• Data checks and movement analysis
• Review, reporting, calculations of reserves
• Learn how to use and run models.

Profile:

• Recent Actuarial Science graduate
• An excellent academic record, with at least 4 exemptions (Average of 65% and above)
• Good Excel skills
• Working knowledge of statistical and mathematical methods and analysis
