Requirements :

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a Fuel & Lubricants sales environment.
  • Minimum matric, but preferably a National Diploma or Bachelors degree.
  • Proven track record in Fuel & Lubricant sales, preferably in the agricultural industry.
  • knowledge and understanding of Fuel & Lubricant products.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill to effectively engage with clients and build rapport at a senior level.
  • Self -motivated and driven to succeed, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to grasp complex Fuel & Lubricants quality solutions and articulate their value add to customers.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Visit existing customers secure their fuel & lubricants business
  • Identify potential new Fuel & Lubricant customers
  • Visit new customers who are not purchasing their Fuel & Lubricant requirements from the company and secure their Fuel & Lubricants business for the company.
  • Grow and foster sound long term relationships
  • Share with them their purchasing profile and ensure their information requirements are met
  • Develop annual demand plans with customers
  • Analyse and / or identify storage and dispensing equipment needs
  • Identify volume growth opportunities
  • Attend to ad hoc customer queries and ensure their queries are resolved speedily.
  • Assist the central Fuel team with the development and frequent updating of Fuel DC demand forecasts.
  • Introduce lubricant service providers to customers.
  • Do preliminary Lubricant service site surveys and engage with Lubricant service providers to develop tailer made Lubricant solutions for customers.
  • Secure Lubricant service agreements with customers and ensure proper service provider execution.
  • Do site SHEQ inspections at customer sites to ensure safe fuel truck access and fuel storage equipment.
  • Do site inspections at customer sites in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule to ensure adequate maintenance of installed storage and dispensing equipment.
  • Do minor maintenance on dispensing equipment (e.g. Nozzle replacements) at customer sites whilst visiting customers.
  • Attend scheduled Fuel & Lubricant training interventions.
  • Promote Fuel & Lubricant product development knowledge sharing with customers.
  • Maintain proper records of Fuel & Lubricant customers and keep CRM required data up to date.
  • Attend farmer / producer events and actively promote the Fuel & Lubricants offering to them.
  • Frequently interact with the BRM's and keep them informed about new sales opportunities identified during customer interaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new opportunities.
