The Solar PV Construction Manager is required to manage all technical construction aspects of Solar PV projects.

You will assist with any business development requirements focused on continual improvement of the departments operations and efficiencies.

The Construction Manager may also be tasked to assist the Engineering Department to complete designs relating to the renewable energy system to which he is appointed to manage. 

Positions available in CT & JHB. 

Responsibilities and Duties

Maintaining construction as per Project ScheduleProject Subcontractor scope of works managementProject construction/installation quality control. Report finding to appointed Project and Technical ManagerAdhere and maintain project Health and Safety site requirementsRelationship management of SubcontractorsInternal Technician management (if any allocated to your project)Subcontractor (electrical and mechanical) construction managementAssess, accept and give feedback on project engineering designsImplement project construction in line with engineering mechanical and electrical designsAssist in design of solar PV energy systemsAssist with physical installation/construction works where requiredAssist with any operations and maintenance issues on all sites under SLA Development of department tools and documentsEnsure all ISO9001 and ISO45001 compliances are met during constructionEnsure codes and compliances of various installation sectors are metFeedback project learnings to the Engineering Department ensuring continual improvementAssist in handover of system to O&M department as per handover procedureWork with, and report to the appointed Project Manager on construction responsibilities layout above

Knowledge, skills, abilities, qualifications

A minimum of an electrical qualification with a wiremans licenseExcellent communication skillsMust have a can-do attitude.Ability to delegate tasksAbility to prioritize activitiesAbility to motivate his teamValue teamworkPossess great problem-solving skillsFlexible and transparent planningForesight into risk managementAbility to complete tasks and get the job doneAttention to detailAbility to understand and interpreter drawingsAbility identify and rectify issues on designPrevious large scale solar installations knowledge will be an advantage.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years PV Construction installation experience > 300 kWp essentialA minimum of an electrical qualification with a wiremans licensePeople Management experienceProject Management experience Design of Solar PV energy experience Assist with physical installation/construction works where required
