Key Purpose of the role

To manage data remediation across the business functions within timelines and to support the collaboration between different departments. Assessment and analysis of existing Procedures and data captured, finding root causes for the problems experienced and suggesting solutions. Mapping root causes across the various operational functions and finding patterns of issues both in process, data and system set up. Doing analysis on impact if processes are simplified, building excel tools to support checking and reporting of manual processes, supporting with cases to test implemented changes, writing recommendations to internal audit on future audits and Systems on system changes required.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
  • Liaise with internal teams, accounting, valuations, systems implementation, Systems, operational teams, pricing and technical marketing.
  • Analyzing the root causes of errors and the parties impacted by root causes.
  • Document data issues, and possible solutions.
  • Improving manual excel tools to lock and version control tools so changes can't be made.
  • Knowledge of risk factors within the data processes of the business and how SOPs manage these risks.
  • Support testing of solutions both in writing testing cases and creating reports for the testing and signing off the testing once completed.
  • Analyzing of raw data

Education and Experience
  • Matric Mathematics (essential)
  • Maths or Actuarial degree (essential)
  • Student of ASSA (essential)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook (essential)
  • 2 - 3 year's Risk Pricing experience within the Insurance Industry
  • Understanding of insurance and the risks around data (essential)
  • Experience in data analysis recommended
  • Programming in VBA recommended
