We have vacancy for Junior Accountant based in Melrose. The applicant must hold a BCom degree with completed articles (an advantage) as well as 6+ years related experience with competencies in the following:

Invoicing by:

oSubmitting local sale invoices to the applicable Debtors and ensure prices are calculated in accordance with underlying signed contracts.

oChecking and confirming the accuracy of all export invoices on signed contracts (signing them as proof of accuracy).

oPrepare and review monthly Debtor statements.

Executing payments by: 

oFollowing up to ensure payments are received within Debtor terms – with exceptions communicated to direct reports.

oSubmit all required documentation (if any) to banks, to confirm incoming funds is released (UCR Number).

oProcess all receipts from Debtors into SAGE 300.

oPrepare a weekly schedule of payments expected to be received from Debtors (cash flow forecast).

Conducting Vat and Diesel Refund and SARS Audits by:

oCompiling, reconciling and submitting of Vat 201 returns monthly.

oCompiling of documents in the event of any SARS audits.

oMonitoring receipt of VAT refunds (communication to be send out to direct reports & CFO monthly, either confirming receipt or flagging a problem).

Export and Local Sales by:

oUpdating payments on the Traffic Workbook daily.

oChecking and reviewing of Letters of Credit received from a Debtor for accuracy.

oUpdating all the monthly sales and costs on the Vessel Recon per shipment

Export documentation by:

oEnsuring that the export documentation is endorsed and signed appropriately.

oEnsuring that all export documentation is submitted timeously.

oLiaising with Trader on all export documentation requirements.

•Ensuring cashbook by:

oCapturing all funds received on Sage 300 daily.

Checking of bank reconciliations to bank statements

Essential Requirements:

•BCom Degree

•Completed articles (an advantage)

•Experience in the mining or engineering sector (an advantage)

•Minimum of 6 years related financial experience
