Job Title: Rework Co-ordinator
The purpose of the Rework Co-ordinator job is to Fabricate, fit, strip, repair and paint locomotive products using various Alstom processes to support the correction of Non Conformances.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Weld safety critical locomotive components as per welding procedure
- Setup and operate weld, hand and power machine/tools
- Read and interpret technical specifications, repair procedures, engineering drawing, layouts and relevant weld codes and standards
- Exercise skills and have experience in boilermaker trade
- Assemble, rework and disassemble parts to drawing
- Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures
- Ability to strip, rework and re-assemble material to relevant procedure/specification using the following methods – cutting/grinding/drilling/reaming/tapping and rust removal and paint repair
Qualification Requirement
- Grade 12 / N3
- Competency in GMAW (CO2)
- Formal Certificate in Welding
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience working on locomotive products
- Competent in welding applications with proven track record
- Working experience in GMAW (CO2) welding and procedures
- Fitting and boilermaker experience will be an advantage
- working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Proven track record of working with various hand tools and equipement required to perform this job.
- Reading and intepreting drawings in a working environment
Competencies:
- Good written and verbal Communication
- Sound Problem Solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
- Ability to work to close tolerances
- Able to read and identify welding symbols on drawings
- Able to butt weld and filet weld in different positions
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
