Our Client in the Hospitality Industry is seeking to employ a General Manager to their team based in Somerset East. Assistance with accommodation for 2-3 months. Requirements: Recent (within the last 2–3 years) experience in a pub, grill, or restaurant environment. Hands-on kitchen experience and strong understanding of back-of-house operations. Experience with stock counting, inventory management, and cost controls. Proficiency with GAAP POS Systems (required) and Sage Accounting (required). Strong communication skills; English, Afrikaans or Xhosa a plus. Leadership capability with the ability to manage staff and maintain service standards. Reliable, organized, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Drivers License and own vehicle. Responsibilities, but not limited to: Assist in managing daily FOH and BOH operations to ensure efficiency and high service standards. Supervise staff, coordinate shift schedules, and support team training and development. Handle guest relations, resolve service issues, and uphold brand standards. Oversee stock control processes, including daily/weekly stock counts, variance tracking, and ordering. Manage cash-ups, banking, and financial reconciliations. Operate and maintain GAAP POS systems for sales, stock, and reporting functions. Use Sage Accounting for invoicing, supplier management, reconciliations, and financial record-keeping. Ensure food safety, hygiene, and operational compliance throughout the venue. Performance reporting, cost control, and implementation of new procedures.
