We are now seeking a Senior Test Solutions Engineer, with a background in embedded systems and manufacturing, to design and implement software systems that ensure the reliability and quality of our devices during the production process. This role is critical in guaranteeing that every unit we ship meets the highest performance standards.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on role that requires strong software engineering skills, a deep understanding of testing principles, and the ability to understand hardware designs (including reading schematics) in order to bridge the hardware and software domains

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing test software used on our production test jigs. These jigs are deployed at our contract manufacturers (EMS partners) and are used to validate UWB player and ball tracking modules as well as the anchors that enable the tracking system.

The test software must ensure true pass/fail results, reflash devices with the latest firmware, and provide robust reporting into cloud-based systems and databases. Because our tests must be deployed globally and executed consistently across a variety of hardware and operating system environments, you will also be responsible for designing scalable, containerised solutions that guarantee reproducibility, reliability, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain test software used in manufacturing environment.
• Develop automated test coverage to validate hardware modules (PCBA and box build) including UWB tracking modules and anchors.
• Ensure test solutions provide accurate pass/fail determination and reliable firmware re-flashing.
• Work with HW, SW, and ME teams to capture testing requirements and integrate them into test software solutions.
• Deploy, validate, and support test solutions at EMS partners, ensuring stability and reproducibility.
• Design and implement containerised test environments to enable consistent deployment across diverse hardware, OS, and dependency configurations.
• Interface with manufacturing partners to troubleshoot and resolve test issues, including root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Integrate test software with databases and cloud platforms for data collection, analytics, and KPI reporting.
• Write and maintain documentation for test software setup, usage, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and product managers to ensure test strategies align with business and product goals.
• Continuously improve test systems to meet scalability, reliability, and maintainability requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development for manufacturing test jigs  or hardware validation environments.
• Experience of producing manufacturing test systems, test jig development, or hardware/software integration testing.
• Familiarity with production line work flow with a focus on high quality and high efficiency.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++ or similar languages for automation and hardware interaction.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud platforms for data storage and analytics.
• Experience with firmware flashing / debugging tools (GDB, STLINK, JLINK) and version management such as Git.
• Proven experience designing and deploying containerised test solutions (e.g., Docker, Podman, or similar) to ensure reproducibility and portability in global manufacturing environments.
• A self starter with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and  the ability to debug both software and hardware issues.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with internal teams and external manufacturing partners.

Nice-to-Have

• Knowledge of RF or wireless communication testing.
• Experience with STM32 or NRF52 microcontrollers
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub actions for test automation.
• Background in sports technology or real-time embedded systems.
