Our company is searching for Banqueting Assistants 

Banqueting assistants are responsible to support the Event Manager with whatever is required to ensure a successful event. It involves set-up and tear-down of the meeting and event rooms as outlined by the Event Manager. Maintain venue including vacuuming floors, cleaning walls, windows and mirrors. Proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floor, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Unloading equipment from trucks and setting up venues for events according to the layout, including chairs and building stages;

• Working as ushers/ assistants in a professional manner: Ensuring excellent levels of customer service, assisting guests if needed, welcoming guests, serving food and drinks if needed, etc;

• Working under the instructions of an Event/Wedding Manager;

• Setting up lighting and sound equipment when needed;

• Inspecting equipment for damage after use and checking it against an inventory list;

• Packing up equipment when the event is completed;

• Assist with cleaning and maintaining of event venue and event furniture;

• Stock-take; and

• Setup of events: Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 12kg without assistance. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Event Staff assist in the logistical management of corporate and public events. Their primary responsibilities include preparing venues and setting up chairs and stages for events, working as ushers and ensuring the event spaces are clean and organized.
Event Staff needs to constantly be on their feet and attend to the many needs of event-goers, requiring physical stamina and high energy levels.

Minimum requirements:

  • Experience and knowledge are advantageous but not essential.
