CAP is South Africa's leading non-profit, intelligence-led security organisation. Our Cape Town Control Room plays a critical role in delivering proactive monitoring, real-time intervention and exceptional client support across SmartGuard and CCTV environments.

We are looking for a dedicated, detail-orientated CCTV Controller to join our Cape Town operations team.

Overall Purpose of the Job

The CCTV Controller is responsible for monitoring CAP Smart Guard sites, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally, completing required reports, and maintaining high-quality communication and response standards. This role is essential to CAP's proactive crime prevention model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor all Smart Guard and CCTV sites in real time.
  • Compile and maintain Octopus logs and shift handover reports.
  • Conduct routine system health checks.
  • Monitor camera views, analytics, and ensure alignment with field files.
  • Identify and escalate CCTV technical issues.
  • Manage intercom systems across CCTV sites.
  • Monitor iSentry, Innovi, Milestone, and other CCTV platforms.
  • Monitor client alarms via Oryx.
  • Ensure all sites are online through TeamViewer.
  • Send timely WhatsApp updates and feedback to clients.
  • Maintain high administrative standards and accurate reporting.
  • Meet all CCTV and control room performance targets.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12); tertiary entrance results advantageous.
  • Previous CCTV or control room experience advantageous.

  • Ability to handle complaints and deal professionally with difficult clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
  • LPR experience advantageous.
  • Live Person experience advantageous.
  • Must comply with health and safety regulations.

Working Conditions

  • Reactive shift pattern (maximum 252 hours per month).
  • Rotation: 7 days on, 3 days off; 7 days on, 4 days off.
  • Approximately two weeks of training, depending on experience and learning pace.
  • Entry-level salary (details to be discussed during interview).

Performance Indicators (Examples)

  • Client Feedback: Ensure all clients receive WhatsApp feedback within 20 minutes of vehicle dispatch (measured via Milestone system statistics).
  • Signal Closure: Close signals within 30 minutes of TRO feedback (monitored through Milestone and WhatsApp).
  • Administrative Accuracy: All admin and shift handovers must be completed correctly and submitted via Octopus (tracked through Octopus reporting).
