Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable
Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper
to manage a portfolio of our
retainer clients
. The ideal candidate must be comfortable handling all aspects of client accounting — from monthly bookkeeping to tax submissions and financial statements — with a high level of attention to detail and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple retainer clients
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements
  • Process journals, bank reconciliations, and supplier/customer ledgers
  • Complete and submit
    VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax returns
    via
    SARS eFiling
  • Assist with annual financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure deadlines are met
  • Support the firm with any ad-hoc accounting or administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of
    SARS eFiling
    and
    VAT / PAYE submissions
  • Strong Excel and reconciliation skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client portfolios efficiently
  • Able to work independently and meet monthly deadlines
