This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of our furniture and bulk items across our national network.
What You'll Do
As our Distribution Manager, you will assist the Senior Team and National Logistics Manager in:
- Overseeing
distribution and inventory control
within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. - Ensuring
truck loading efficiency
,
damage prevention
, and
on-time, in-full deliveries
. - Managing
3PL carriers
(Trucks, Interlinks, Tautliners) and ensure load optimization. - Driving
warehouse throughput
, improve
labour utilization
, and uphold
health & safety compliance
. - Applying expertise in
space utilization, load balancing, and weight distribution
for bulky/heavy freight. - Training and guiding teams on
manual handling
,
load restraint
, and
safe packing techniques
to protect goods in transit. - Managing a large staff compliment, drive efficiencies and effective use of human resources, equipment and ensuring adherence to processes.
- Operating under strict health and safety protocols, maintenance there-of and fostering a productive, positive culture.
What You'll Need
- 7–10 years' experience
in
distribution and inventory control
, preferably in furniture or bulky freight. - Relevant degree or diploma
in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field. - Proven success in
optimizing load efficiency and delivery performance
. - Strong understanding of
manual handling, lifting techniques, load restraint regulations
, and
vehicle weight limits
. - Experience managing
high-volume warehouse environments
. - Results-driven with a sharp focus on
efficiency, accuracy, and safety
