Our client
is looking for a for a creative thinker who can develop and execute compelling copy across a variety of mediums. The ideal candidate will be capable of thinking conceptually, collaborating with various departments, and bringing their ideas to life through effective and engaging on-brand copy.

This position will work closely with the Strategy, Creative, and Engagement teams to ensure the highest quality of content. Additionally, the candidate will have the unique opportunity to work on both South African and US accounts, requiring dexterity to switch between US and South African English.

Campaign Responsibilities

  • Creative Collaboration:
    Work alongside the Strategy and relevant Studio Departments to develop sharp, high-caliber campaign messaging that meets client briefs and objectives.
  • Client Presentations:
    Lead and participate in client-facing presentations, showcasing creative vision and messaging strategies.
  • Interpretation of Direction:
    Understand and translate creative direction and technical information into persuasive and impactful copy.

Monthly Responsibilities

  • Content Plan Oversight:
    Workshop and approve the rollout of client content plans with all relevant stakeholders for both US and South African accounts.
  • Strategy Execution:
    Collaborate with the Strategy and Writing departments to ensure client communication strategies are being executed effectively and consistently.
  • Content Review:
    Conduct regular reviews of blogs, newsletters, social media posts, and paid media strategies with copywriters, ensuring content quality, engagement, and conversion effectiveness.
  • Messaging Alignment:
    Work with clients and internal teams to create, edit, and modify messaging to meet specific marketing goals and ensure alignment with brand objectives.
  • Content Creation & Approval:
    Write, review, approve, and publish compelling, clear, and error-free original content that accurately reflects the company's brand voice and messaging guidelines.

Management Responsibilities (Senior applicants)

  • Team Leadership:
     Lead and manage a team of young, talented writers based in our Knysna office, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to help them develop their skills and produce high-quality work.
  • Professional Development:
    Foster a collaborative and supportive environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth within the writing team.

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of copywriting experience, with a strong background in social media, eCommerce, SEO, traditional marketing, email marketing, ads, and blog writing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Communications, or other applicable business majors.
  • Proven experience as a copywriter with a portfolio showcasing integrated campaign work across various mediums (TV, outdoor, radio, print, digital).
  • Ability to educate and clearly inform, as well as connect with an audience.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with creative departments in both South Africa and the United States.
  • Flexibility to switch between US and South African English as needed for different accounts.
