We are looking for a
Lead UI Designer
that bridges UI and Brand
to elevate experiences and digital design through visual storytelling, to join our Cape Town team.

In this remote role, you will work across a range of cross-media projects, from concept to execution, collaborating closely with creatives, strategists and developers. You will transform strategic insights into compelling visual narratives that move audiences. Your strong aesthetic sense, understanding of global design standards and commitment to user-centred design will make all the difference for the brands we work for.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex ideas into clear, visually engaging narratives and original creative concepts
  • Set high-quality UI design standards for web, mobile applications and immersive experiences
  • Implement and maintain robust design systems to ensure consistency across all components and deliverables
  • Develop cohesive brand identities that resonate with target audiences and drive emotional connection
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including UX, strategists, 3D artists, sound engineers and motion designers, copywriters and developers
  • Present and articulate design concepts, gather feedback and refine designs based on client and stakeholder input
  • Champion creative excellence, push creative boundaries and inspire teams around you to produce award-winning work
  • Stay ahead of design movements, cultural shifts and emerging creative technologies to keep our work fresh and relevant
  • Guide junior designers by providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative environment for skill development

Requirements

  • 5+ years in design, ideally in a top-tier creative agency setting, with a portfolio demonstrating strong UI, product design and brand design skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Figma, Adobe Suite and the latest GenAI tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles, user-centered design, accessibility, design systems and design for agentic/intelligent experiences
  • Capable of running your own projects, meeting deadlines and working methodically in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, proactive problem-solving and openness to diverse approaches
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and in current climate fully immersed in AI and what it has to offer design professionals
  • Exceptional eye for design, with mastery of typography, colour theory, composition and visual hierarchy

Nice to have

  • Keen interest in motion design, illustration, or even frontend development
  • Keen interest generative AI
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Applied Arts, Visual Design or a related field or trainings
