Divisional Accountant

Job Function

To provide expertise and advice to support the development of operational implementation plans and associated service delivery processes, methods and techniques and to perform, keep track of and report on the financial transactions of an organisational unit in accordance with financial policies and regulations, enabling informed management decision making and contributing to client or customer satisfaction, optimal profitability, reduced risk and compliance to regulatory and legislative requirements.

Key Performance Areas

• Review and upload of Hyperion packs received from Operations (Actuals, Budgets, Forecasts).
• Clear monthly Hyperion validations in conjunction with business units.
• Provide support to Business Units with their monthly reporting requirements where needed.
• Maintenance, update and building of the Hyperion retrieve report.
• Perform monthly consolidation Hyperion Financial Management recons.
• Assist with audit requirements.
• Maintain and perform IFRS 16 and IFRS 16 journals on lease insight.
• Implementation of FCCS (assisting with loading, reviewing of FCCS packs and balancing back to Hyperion Financial Management.
• Assist with investment impairment and goodwill impairment testing for year-end audit.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
  • Perform ad hoc reporting projects and requirements.

Qualifications Required

• Honours degree (NQF Level 8) in Finance.

Experience and Skills Required

• Up to 8 years of experience in a similar environment with at least 5 years operational leadership or specialist experience.
• Proficient financial and performance reporting knowledge and / or skill.
• Proficient tax management knowledge and / or skill.
