Quality Engineer (Quality Department Automotive Industry)

Pinetown KZN

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct product and process inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Perform root cause analysis for defects, implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Maintain and improve quality documentation (procedures, work instructions, checklists).

  • Support internal and external audits (ISO, customer audits, regulatory audits).

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.

  • Monitor KPIs and generate quality performance reports.

  • Train employees on quality standards and best practices.

  • Lead or support continuous improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma).

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in a manufacturing/automotive environment (depending on the role level).

  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949 if automotive).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems.

  • Familiarity with tools such as FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and 8D reporting.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work across departments.
