This role is based in Mokopane, Limpopo
Job DescriptionThe Electrical Section Engineer is a appointment in terms of the MHS Act and is responsible to provide operational service and support to the Resident Engineer.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Ensuring adherence to site-specific and overall Valterra Platinum standards.
- Multi-disciplinary team management
- Strategic Asset management including planned maintenance and common reliability practices
- Safety Management
- Labour structure and training management
- Effective Budgeting Controls (OPEX and CAPEX)
- Management of Major shutdowns
- Oversee open pit electrical projects (within limit of authority)
- Ensuring adherence to Legal compliance
- Manage open pit electrical rotables and spares
- Carry out 1st ,2nd and 3rd line maintenance.
This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Resident Engineer.
Qualifications- Electrical Engineering Degree / Diploma
- Government Certificate of competency in Mines and Works – Electrical
- Medium voltage certification – advantageous
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Five years post Engineering qualification experience
- Three years appointed in electrical section
- Knowledge/experience in overhead power lines and medium voltage equipment
- Proficient in computer literacy – Microsoft office
- Proficiency in English
