Purpose of the Role:

The Marketing Intelligence Specialist ensures every marketing decision at Dis-Chem Life is informed by accurate, consistent, and actionable data. The role supports the full marketing measurement process, from data capture and campaign tracking through to clear, timely reporting that enables smarter optimisation across all channels.

This position focuses primarily on analytics — maintaining robust tracking, accurate reporting, and actionable insights across awareness, engagement, and lead submission. Beyond this stage, the specialist works closely with the internal Data and Actuarial teams to analyse post-lead performance and extract insights that improve future campaign effectiveness.

You will work alongside the Head of Marketing and Paid Media Manager to ensure tracking systems, dashboards, and reporting automation are reliable, efficient, and aligned with Dis-Chem Life's performance goals.

Role Summary:

This is a hands-on, analytics-focused role for someone who enjoys working with data, solving technical tracking problems, and turning numbers into meaningful insights. You'll maintain measurement accuracy across paid, organic, and in-store channels while automating key reporting processes that help the marketing team move faster and make better decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

 Analytics and Tracking

  • Set up and manage GA4, Google Tag Manager, and tracking pixels across all digital channels
  • Apply and maintain consistent UTM and campaign naming conventions
  • Configure and monitor conversion tracking for Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, and TikTok
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tracking or attribution discrepancies quickly
  • Maintain dashboards that connect media spend to lead volume, quality, and ROI

 Reporting and Insights

  • Build and automate Looker Studio dashboards for weekly and monthly reporting
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights to improve campaign performance and audience targeting
  • Track and analyse funnel performance from awareness through to lead submission
  • Collaborate with Data and Actuarial teams on post-lead reporting to identify trends and inform future optimisations
  • Present concise reports and insights to the marketing team and management

SEO and Website Analytics

  • Track and analyse organic performance using Google Search Console and keyword tools
  • Identify SEO trends, ranking opportunities, and local search (GEO) performance improvements
  • Provide recommendations to improve visibility for both national and regional campaigns
  • Support alignment between paid, organic, and in-store marketing visibility

Automation and Efficiency

  • Automate regular reports and alerts to improve speed and consistency
  • Ensure clean data flow between marketing platforms and analytics dashboards
  • Support integration and tagging automation between systems such as GA4, CRM, and ad platforms

Financial and Campaign Reconciliation

  • Verify monthly media spend against tracked leads and cost-per-lead performance
  • Assist with ROI reporting, budget pacing, and campaign reconciliation
  • Validate and align data from multiple sources including vendors, affiliates, and CRM systems

 Soft Skills:

  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving ability

 Technical Skills:

  • Advanced GA4 and Google Tag Manager skills (tags, triggers, variables, and testing)
  • Experience with Looker Studio or equivalent dashboard tools
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets proficiency (data cleaning, formulas, pivot tables)
  • Working knowledge of SEO tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, or Ahrefs
  • Understanding of UTM structures, attribution, and data integrity principles
  • Awareness of local SEO and GEO optimisation
  • Familiarity with Meta Events Manager and Google Ads conversion tracking
  • Understanding of POPIA and responsible data management practices
  • Basic automation and integration knowledge (reporting scripts, workflow tools, or API connectors)

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing analytics, tracking, or digital performance roles
  • Hands-on experience with GA4 and Google Tag Manager setup and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to build and manage reporting dashboards and interpret results
  • Exposure to high-volume lead generation, retail, or financial services environments
  • Understanding of SEO and local search performance measurement
  • Experience collaborating with data or BI teams is advantageous
