Requirements

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • ECSA registered as a Candidate Engineering Technician
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' (post first relevant tertiary qualification)

  • Computer literacy
  • Valid Code B or EB driver's licence.

Special Conditions:

  • Ability to perform standby duties and work flexible hours
  • Required to work in all weather conditions.
  • Able to work in confined spaces.

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide technical advice to districts on matters pertaining to

specialised support on maintenance and

network/equipment performances

  • Ensure that adequate standards are adhered to maintenance

projects are implemented as planned, the distribution

network system complies with the NERSA license

requirement and NRS 048

  • Coordinate, in liaison with Engineering Branch, electricity supply

project developments for residential, commercial and industrial

usages, as and when required

  • Provide technical support in implementing and auditing planned

maintenance programmes, develop tender specifications, and

monitor service provider performance to ensure compliance with

technical and contractual standards

  • Respond to technical maintenance enquiries, analyse major

outages, and contribute to corrective actions and infrastructure

improvements to ensure systems align with policies

and operational requirements

  • Coordinate administrative tasks including preparation of

investigation and productivity reports, budget checks,

requisitions, and operational documentation to support service

delivery and compliance

  • Capture actuals on SAP, respond to queries through research

and data extraction, and ensure reporting procedures align with

operational and policy requirements
