Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Senior Accountant based in Durban. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, preparing monthly financial reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, drafting financial statements, ad hoc company secretarial duties, preparation of monthly management accounts and other allied tasks. The role also includes reviewing and maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with budgeting and forecasting and liaising with clients. The ideal candidate must be tech savvy and always looking for ways to improve efficiency and reporting using AI and business intelligence.

Qualifications

  • Strong accounting skills, including experience with financial reporting and compliance
  • Proficiency in tax regulations and disputes and financial analysis
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
  • Competency in using accounting software (
    Xero, Simplepay, Draftworx, Hubdoc, Syft)
    and tools, along with strong Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax (or Diploma equivalent)
  • Experience in outsourced financial services, payroll systems, or business advisory services is advantageous

Experience

  • 3 years experience post qualification in accounting firm environment with above mentioned software

Remuneration

  • R 20,000 to R 25,000 CTC per month
  • Monthly performance bonuses
