Role Description

This is a contract on-site role for an Estimator (Mining) with process and underground experience, located in Johannesburg. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and identifying necessary materials, labor, and timelines. Day-to-day tasks may include reviewing project plans, coordinating with engineers and contractors, assessing potential risks, and ensuring cost efficiency. This role also involves contributing to project planning and decision-making processes by providing detailed cost information and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in estimation, quantity surveying, and cost analysis
  • Strong understanding of (processing and underground) mining operations and engineering principles
  • Experience using estimation software and tools applicable to the mining industry
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project plans
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with diverse teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Prior experience in mining or heavy construction projects is an advantage
  • Knowledge of local and international industry standards
