Business Development Manager
for
Lusophone Africa
. This new role has been especially created to focus on the growing market across Lusophone Africa. This person should be goal orientated and comfortable working within a high pressured and fast paced environment. They should possess excellent communication skills (telephone, face-to-face), for both internal networking and client facing activity. Above all, this person should be hardworking and passionate for success.
About The Role
We are recruiting for a
Business Development Manager
to develop and strengthen relationships with key clients across the 5 Portuguese speaking countries in Africa (Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau and Sao Tome & Principe) region. You will be responsible for growing revenue from existing accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities. This role requires a proactive, results-driven individual who enjoys building long-term partnerships and driving client success in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for your portfolio, understanding customer needs, challenges, and growth opportunities.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through research, networking, and client engagement.
- Responsible for following up on regional leads, outbound calling and social selling using LinkedIn and other applications.
- Manage existing accounts to drive retention, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams to maximize the use and value of our products and services.
- Keeping up to date with market and competitive developments, such as major regulatory changes and new product offerings
- Preparing and maintaining an effective sales territory plan, including target prospects and markets with trackable activities to meet financial and business targets
- Maintain accurate forecasts and customer data using Salesforce or a similar CRM tool.
- Meet and exceed quarterly business and revenue goals.
- Travel to these regions is part of the role (estimate quarterly trips)
Qualifications And Skills
- Fluent in Portuguese (business level) and English.
- Demonstrated success in new business development or account management, preferably in Financial Services, SaaS, or data-driven industries.
- Experience with value-based or consultative selling approaches.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver against performance targets
- Strong organizational, time management and forecasting skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including experience presenting or networking at client or industry events.
- Experience of a proven sales methodology (e.g. SPIN, Insight Selling, MEDDICC) is also a plus

Estamos a recrutar um
Business development Manager
para desenvolver e fortalecer relações com clientes-chave nos cinco países africanos de língua portuguesa (Angola, Moçambique, Cabo Verde, Guiné-Bissau e São Tomé e Príncipe). Será responsável por aumentar a receita de contas existentes e identificar novas oportunidades de negócio. Esta função exige uma pessoa proativa, orientada para resultados e que valorize a construção de parcerias de longo prazo, promovendo o sucesso dos clientes num ambiente dinmico e colaborativo.
Principais Responsabilidades
- Desenvolver e implementar um plano estratégico para a sua carteira de clientes, compreendendo as suas necessidades, desafios e oportunidades de crescimento.
- Identificar, prosseguir e concretizar novas oportunidades de negócio através de pesquisa, networking e envolvimento com clientes.
- Responsável por acompanhar leads regionais, realizar chamadas ativas e vendas sociais através do LinkedIn e outras plataformas.
- Gerir contas existentes, promovendo retenção, vendas adicionais (upselling) e vendas cruzadas (cross-selling).
- Colaborar com colegas de várias equipas para maximizar a utilização e o valor dos nossos produtos e serviços.
- Manter-se atualizado sobre o mercado e as tendências competitivas, incluindo alterações regulatórias e novos produtos.
- Preparar e manter um plano eficaz de território de vendas, incluindo prospeção de mercados e clientes-alvo, com atividades rastreáveis para atingir metas financeiras e comerciais.
- Manter previsões e dados de clientes precisos, utilizando o Salesforce ou ferramenta de CRM semelhante.
- Atingir e superar os objetivos trimestrais de negócio e receita.
- Viagens regulares para a região fazem parte do cargo (estimativa: viagens trimestrais).
Qualificações e Competências
- Fluência em Português (nível profissional) e Inglês.
- Sucesso comprovado em desenvolvimento de novos negócios ou gestão de contas, preferencialmente nos setores de Serviços Financeiros, SaaS ou indústrias orientadas por dados.
- Experiência em vendas consultivas ou baseadas em valor.
- Conhecimento prático de Salesforce.
- Capacidade de trabalhar sob pressão e atingir metas de desempenho.
- Fortes competências organizacionais, de gestão de tempo e de previsão de resultados.
- Excelentes capacidades de comunicação e construção de relacionamentos, incluindo experiência em apresentações ou networking em eventos de clientes ou do setor.
- Experiência comprovada com metodologias de vendas (por exemplo, SPIN, Insight Selling, MEDDICC) será uma vantagem.
