Position Overview

The Planning Engineer will support project execution by developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules using Primavera P6 for large-scale infrastructure and EPC projects. The role is responsible for planning, progress tracking, forecasting, schedule risk analysis, and providing strategic schedule insights to project leadership. The successful candidate must be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated baseline schedules in Primavera P6 for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Update and track project progress, identify variances, and prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports.
  • Conduct critical path analysis (CPA), resource loading, and manpower histograms.
  • Monitor schedule performance, analyze delays, and support claims and time-extension documentation.
  • Prepare progress dashboards, S-curves, productivity curves, and progress measurement metrics.
  • Coordinate planning interfaces between internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Participate in planning workshops, schedule risk reviews, and scenario simulations.
  • Support change management processes (re-baselining, recovery schedules, mitigation planning).
  • Ensure alignment with contract requirements (FIDIC / NEC / EPC project structures).
  • Provide planning input and reporting for commercial, cost control, and project management functions.
  • Prepare delay analysis and planning inputs for claims, variations, and extensions of time (EOT).
  • Support commercial teams with schedule-based justification, substantiation of project delays, and evaluation of schedule impacts for variations or change orders.
  • Develop and review recovery schedules and mitigation plans to support contractual negotiations.
  • Generate planning evidence and schedule records for disputes, adjudications, or negotiation processes.
  • Support ad-hoc project planning and reporting tasks as required.
  • Duties as may be required from time to time in accordance with the Company's operational requirements.
Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Project Management (Master's advantageous).
  • Minimum 5+ years of planning / scheduling experience in construction or EPC infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 (advanced user).
  • Experience with MS Project, Excel dashboards, Power BI, or similar reporting tools (advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, cost & schedule integration, and progress measurement.
  • Experience preparing S-curves, histograms, critical path and delay analysis reports.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC / NEC / EPC contracts and project control systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
