Position Overview:

Africam is seeking a talented and experienced Social Media & Marketing Manager to lead our digital presence and marketing initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of wildlife, a strong command of social media platforms, and the creativity to engage audiences globally. You'll be at the heart of our brand storytelling, helping to expand our reach and build an online community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Africam's social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Create, curate, and schedule engaging content that reflects Africam's wildlife expertise and unique live-stream experiences.
  • Collaborate with the production and content team to craft compelling campaigns, reels, and posts.
  • Monitor and analyse social media performance metrics to optimize content strategy and audience engagement.
  • Lead marketing initiatives, including newsletters, campaigns, and promotions, to drive subscriptions and brand growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with wildlife, conservation, and social media trends to ensure content remains relevant and engaging.
  • Work closely with the team to maintain brand consistency, voice, and storytelling across all platforms.

Requirements:

  • Must be based in Cape Town, job is based in our Rondebosch office
  • Proven experience in social media management and digital marketing, ideally within wildlife, conservation, or nature-focused organizations.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Exceptional written and visual communication skills; an eye for detail and creative storytelling.
  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborative, team-oriented professional.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for wildlife, conservation, and connecting people with nature.

Preferred:

  • Experience with content creation tools, social media analytics platforms, and basic graphic/video editing.
  • Background in wildlife, travel, videography is a plus.
