The Role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Manager to oversee financial controllership across EDF Power Solutions Southern Africa. This senior leadership role will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, and the integrity of financial systems. You will manage a team of financial accountants and play a key role in supporting FP&A, Project Finance, and business growth through strong internal controls and process efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations, including treasury, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger

  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end reporting for internal and group requirements

  • Manage preparation of annual financial statements, audits, and regulatory reporting (CIPC, NERSA, etc.)

  • Oversee tax compliance (VAT, Income Tax, WHT) and liaise with SARS and tax advisors

  • Ensure compliance with statutory law, IFRS, Companies Act, and shareholder agreements

  • Maintain and improve financial systems (ERP, COUPA, FloQast) and design effective internal controls

  • Streamline accounting processes and support business growth through cost efficiency and automation

  • Manage company insurance portfolio in coordination with group insurance team

  • Provide financial support to FP&A and Project Finance teams, including meeting lender requirements

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3 Financial Accountants and an Accounts Payable & Treasury Controller

What You'll Need
Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Registered Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African statutory requirements

Experience:

  • 10–15 years' experience as Finance Manager, Accounting Manager, or CFO

  • 3–5 years' management experience, leading finance teams

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial processes

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong commercial and business awareness

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills

  • High attention to detail, with ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
