Our digital agency is looking for a
Video Editor / Production Manager
to join our team.

Role Overview:

The Video Editor / Production Manager is responsible for maintaining and delivering high-quality video productions, ensuring all processes outlined in individual SOPs are followed. This role requires strong project management skills to oversee video production from conception to delivery, including client management and timeline development.

Key Performance Areas:

- Video Creation (utilising industry standard tools and latest trends)

- Client and Supplier Liaison

- Video Production Management

- Freelancer & Resource Management

Video Creation:

- Conduct research, source artwork, and gather necessary resources

- Create shot lists for video shoots.

- Direct and shoot according to the shot list and approved storyboard, ensuring footage is correctly captured and edited.

- Ensure the visual design aligns with the approved storyboard, client's Corporate Identity, and brief requirements.

- Render all videos according to correct specifications and formats.

- Deliver projects on agreed deadlines, provided there are no client delays.

- Edit videos according to client briefs, maintaining correct feedback processes.

- Perform audio corrections and mixes

Client and Supplier Liaison:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the video production process.

- Communicate project updates, gather feedback, and manage client expectations effectively.

- Liaise with suppliers to source necessary equipment, props, and services.

Video Production Management:

- Attend daily team meetings, identify deadlines or benchmark issues, and provide team feedback.

- Manage event videography and photography productions

- Achieve deadlines, monitor quoted versus actual hours, and identify areas for improvement for projects exceeding benchmarks.

- Develop and manage comprehensive project timelines, ensuring all milestones are met.

- Ensure all necessary content, artwork, and equipment for each video are received and ready.

- Manage the quality of work produced.

- Ensure all gear is regularly checked and maintained, and safety procedures are followed during shoots.

Freelancer & Resource Management:

- Identify and engage with videography and photography freelancers as needed on a per-project basis, across South Africa and potentially internationally.

- Identify the need for video and photo freelancers ahead of larger projects, and assist in the sourcing thereof.

- Ensure that all freelancers and internal resources stay on track, on deadline, and provide quality work.

Knowledge:

- Video Production Process, with a focus on Project Management and Post Production

- Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro critical, After Effects knowledge is a big plus)

- Knowledge of Video Equipment, Digital Video Cameras

- Understanding of Video Streaming / Web-Based Video (OBS and Live-streaming knowledge is a plus)

- Knowledge of Audio Post Production and Colour Correction/Grading

Other:

Other duties may be expected as operationally required within your capabilities. Position is remote but occasional travel may be required.
