Minimum Requirements:

  • LLB or equivalent legal degree and admission as an attorney
  • At least
    3 years' experience
    in a commercial legal environment with commercial contracting expertise
  • Proven track record in drafting and negotiating various commercial contracts (particularly in procurement)
  • Based in
    Cape Town
  • A mature team-player who is able to build and maintain positive working relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, with a focus on
    procurement contracts
  • Ensure contracts comply with legal standards, company/client policies, playbooks and/or industry standards
  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with commercial contracts and provide strategic recommendations on risk mitigation
  • Ability to analyse complex legal issues
  • Lead contract negotiations with third parties, delivering optimal outcomes for clients
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically in addressing legal and business challenges
  • Work seamlessly within a collaborative legal team and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment, handling multiple priorities efficiently.
