Job Description:
You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of engineering duties including but not limited to designing, costing, quality control and project management of various repower and other projects. You will collaborate with the project management, stakeholders and production teams both internal and external on various design projects, using in-depth knowledge of the latest design trends and engineering software to lead the way. In addition to being a good communicator, you will be required to be a creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
Objective of Job
To provide the following:
- Engineering, design and documentation of repower solutions Industrial and Mining applications.
- Project execution including project management in components, assemble procedural manuals, safety requirements and maintenance task specifications.
- Support the Industrial and Mining team and account managers within the business in delivering technical presentations and technical expertise.
- Clear understanding of the available products within the market and the ability to design quality and cost-effective solutions around RRPS products.
- Maintain knowledge of products, technologies and policies.
- Maintain a database of repower solutions with performance data.
- Project tracking and reporting on a regular basis to your Immediate manager, Project manager, Heads of Industrial and Engineering.
- Research and draft blueprints, engineering plans and graphics.
- Identify solutions to improve production and cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with other engineers, management, finance, SHEQ, logistics, sales engineers and account managers.
- Complete quality and quantity checks on all parts received for repower and other projects with assistance from the logistics team.
- Compile lessons learned checklist from previous designs done on repower and other projects and ensure that they are implemented on future projects.
- You will achieve your objectives and still adhere to the Company SHEQ Policies and Procedures and the Rolls-Royce Global Code of Conduct.
Requirements
- B.Eng. (Mechanical) or B.Sc. (Mechanical) degree.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role (engineered solutions design).
- Proficient in MS Office and 3D mechanical design software (SolidWorks, ptc Creo, etc) design software (a must).
- General understanding of the mining and industrial market segment especially Southern Africa region and its regulations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Travel to customers and sites for installation, commissioning and sign off on the solutions installed.

- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication, presentation and customer service skills
