A well-established short-term Insurance Brokerage in Somerset West is looking to recruit a Senior Personal Lines Underwriter;
- Std 10/Grade 12, NQF level 4 accreditation including RE5 certificate and Class of Business personal and commercial lines.
- Up to date CPD points
- Minimum 5 years short-term personal underwriting experience
- Proficient in CIMS 360 (Cardinal)
- Computer skills (all MS office packages, especially excel)
- Attention to detail is of utmost importance
- Time management skills (planning and organising)
- Excellent admin skills and accuracy
- Analytical ability (reasoning and questioning)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans
- Continuous employment is subject to continued FAIS accreditation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
- High stress tolerance and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision
Ability to be a team player that can actively encourage open communication in a team environment.

- Service existing portfolio of personal clients through relationship building
- Ensure compliance with the company underwriting guidelines
- Prepare proposals and ROA documents and endorsements
- Negotiate terms with underwriters on renewals, quotes and on new business
- Underwrite and accept risks from existing and prospective clients and issuing thereof
- Retaining and cross selling of existing clients
- Prompt feedback and handling of complaints (internal & external)
- Retain portfolio statistics
- Assisting with adhoc administration as requested by management
Salary commensurate with experience.
The employment package includes a medical aid contribution and a provident fund contribution.
