Job Description

PBT Group is looking for a Data Scientist to join a high-performing Data Science team driving innovation through advanced analytics and machine learning solutions. The successful candidate will apply data science techniques to extract insights, automate decision-making processes, and support the design and deployment of predictive models in a collaborative, cloud-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and interpret large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that drive strategic business decisions.
  • Design, build, and deploy scalable machine learning models and algorithms for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure efficient data preparation, integration, and pipeline automation for model development.
  • Validate, test, and monitor model performance, ensuring stability and accuracy over time.
  • Communicate analytical results and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of data science platforms and best practices.
  • Support data governance and documentation for reproducibility and auditability.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 3+ years' experience in a Data Science role within analytics or financial environments.
  • Proficiency in Python (including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PySpark, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS (S3, SageMaker, Lambda) and Databricks for data science workflows.
  • Solid understanding of statistical modelling, data mining, and feature engineering techniques.
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
  • Familiarity with SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Experience in insurance or exposure to Salesforce or TIA systems will be an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.

  • AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty or Databricks Machine Learning Certification (advantageous).
