Animal Health Internship - Clinvet International (Bloemfontein)

Clinvet International (Bloemfontein) hereby invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for a HWSETA Funded Internship in the Animal Care Department for the period 01 January – 31 December months).

Core Description of Duties

  • Basic animal care
  • Interact, socialise, and handle animals to ensure content, well-adjusted and cared for animals
  • Clinical assistance to Veterinarians
  • Conduct relevant observations and examinations of animals
  • Therapy and care of animals ensuring good animal health and wellbeing
  • The collection of specimens, including, but not limited to, blood, blood smears, skin scrapings, urine specimens and faecal samples necessary for laboratory analysis
  • Basic laboratory procedures (including sample management, blood smear analysis, etc.) to assist with diagnosis
  • Accurate and correct movement of animals
  • Record and handle raw data to ensure accurate and consistent information

Minimum Qualification and Requirements

  • National Diploma in any of the following:
  • Veterinary Technology or
  • Animal Health or
  • Veterinary Nursing or

  • Laboratory Animal Technology

  • Applicants must be unemployed and

  • Applicants must be SAVC registered

Skills and Competencies

  • Computer literate
  • Proficiency in English
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Driver's license

Stipend (salary) per month R6,000.00
