POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Sales and Marketing Manager to lead the growth of Uniworld in South Africa. This role combines strategic sales leadership, relationship management, and marketing execution to drive awareness, engagement, and bookings through our various sales channels.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the South African travel trade landscape, strong negotiation and presentation skills, and the ability to deliver measurable sales results while maintaining Uniworld's luxury brand positioning.

KEY RESPSONSIBILITIES

Sales Development

  • Manage and grow Uniworld sales across South Africa through proactive account management, training, and field engagement.
  • Negotiate and manage consortia and key partner contracts, ensuring ROI-driven partnerships and alignment with global commercial strategies.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities including new agencies, group sales, and corporate travel programs.
  • Conduct regular trade visits, sales calls, and training sessions to strengthen brand presence and conversion rates.

Marketing & Brand Activation

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns and joint marketing initiatives with trade partners to promote Uniworld.
  • Coordinate and host consumer and agent events (virtual and in-person) to showcase the Uniworld experience.
  • Ensure all marketing activities reflect the Uniworld brand ethos and are aligned with global marketing direction.
  • Oversee and manage the local marketing budget, ensuring effective ROI and spend alignment with business priorities.

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Prepare and present regular sales and performance reports.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, challenges, and growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with the UK and EMEA Sales teams to align regional strategies and share market insights.
  • Stay abreast of competitor activities and emerging industry trends.

Travel & Representation

  • Represent Uniworld at trade shows, industry events, and training sessions.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within South Africa and internationally as required.
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Competencies

  • Based in Johannesburg or Cape Town
  • Excellent knowledge of the South African travel trade industry
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills at all levels
  • Strong planning, analytical, and organisational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Salesforce experience is an advantage
  • Full, clean driving license

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in travel industry sales, preferably within luxury travel or cruise.
  • Proven success in achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience working with or within travel consortia
  • Prior marketing experience or exposure to co-op campaigns advantageous
  • Previous travel agent or sales manager experience highly regarded
