Purpose of the Role

We need someone available asap, this role is responsible for the Tree House and its team, as well as curating, developing, and implementing age-appropriate programs and experiences for children visiting or staying at Boschendal Estate.

A core focus of the position is to design engaging educational activities that highlight sustainability, regeneration, farming, and farm life.

The role collaborates closely with various hospitality departments—such as Reservations, Front of House, and Farming—to deliver tailored family experiences and support special events including Easter, Christmas, festivals, and Tree House night markets.

Key Responsibilities

Operational

  • Ensure continuous maintenance, cleanliness, and readiness of all activity spaces.
  • Oversee operational equipment to ensure functionality and upkeep.
  • Ensure guest and staff safety at all times.

Leadership & Management

  • Maintain professional standards of punctuality, uniform, appearance, and hygiene within the team.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly team meetings, including 1:1 sessions to support communication and development.
  • Encourage creativity, innovation, and independent thinking within the team, recognising contributions.
  • Ensure employees understand and embody company values, policies, and cultural characteristics.
  • Oversee training and development for staff.
  • Ensure compliance with fire, food, and security safety regulations.

Finance Related

  • Ensure all sales transactions are accurately processed on POS systems daily.
  • Manage departmental Capex and related project management.
  • Analyse business performance to support accurate forecasting.
  • Conduct cash-ups and follow cash handling procedures.
  • Oversee stock management and cost-of-sales monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities to generate revenue while reducing wastage and driving responsible resource use.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team for promotions, advertising, and content updates.
  • Ensure pricing and cost-of-sales data remain accurate and current.

General / Other Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, deliver, and evaluate all children's experience activities to ensure seamless service.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork and collaboration across departments.
  • Prioritise guest needs and ensure preparation for all services, adhering to opening and closing procedures.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints promptly; provide feedback to management.
  • Continuously improve and innovate experiences to increase footfall and maintain relevance to market trends.
  • Collaborate with Farm, Sustainability, and other teams to keep educational content accurate and relevant.
  • Ensure website content remains correct and up to date.
  • Attend required training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

·       Weekend, holiday, and evening work required.

·       Involvement in outdoor and event-based settings across the estate.
