ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a committed and dynamic Senior Prep English Teacher to join Reddford House The Hills on a full-time maternity cover contract. The role involves promoting the academic progress and wellbeing of students in your care, creating a positive learning environment, and motivating students to achieve their full potential. You will deliver engaging and well-planned English lessons and contribute to the wider life of the school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, prepare and deliver interesting and engaging English lessons.
• Establish and maintain a nurturing classroom environment that supports active learning.
• Demonstrate professionalism in punctuality, behaviour, and expectations for student work and homework.
• Evaluate, reflect on and continually refine teaching practice.
• Participate in personal and school-wide professional development.
• Provide additional lessons on two afternoons per week when required.
• Create high-quality learning resources that support student understanding.
• Respond to parent communication (email/phone) within 24 hours.
• Attend school events and activities at the request of the relevant Head.
• Set and mark assessments, examinations and other forms of student evaluation.
• Write report comments reflecting student progress and development.
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks assigned by the School Head or line manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A university degree in a relevant subject area.
• Certified teaching status.
• A minimum of 2–5 years' experience teaching students in a secondary school and/or post-16 environment.
• Strong understanding of the subject matter and ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
• Effective planning, assessment and feedback skills.
• Confidence in using ICT in teaching.
• A genuine commitment to student welfare and development.
• A positive attitude to continuous improvement and professional learning.
