Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Candidate Attorney at Harris Incorporated, based in Sandton. The Candidate Attorney will be responsible for tasks such as legal research, drafting legal documents, participating in negotiations, and providing legal advice under the supervision of the director and senior associates.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
: Completion of an LLB degree from an accredited university in South Africa. - Eligible for Articles
: Candidate should meet the eligibility requirements for completing their Practical Vocational Training (articles) as a candidate attorney. - Academic Record
: A strong academic record, particularly in core legal subjects.

Key Responsibilities
- Legal Research and Analysis
: Conducting thorough research to support legal cases and drafting opinions. - Drafting Legal Documents
: Preparing legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, affidavits, and briefs under supervision. - Case Management
: Assisting attorneys with managing case files, maintaining records, and tracking case progress. - Client Interaction
: Attending client meetings (under supervision), preparing client updates, and ensuring clear communication. - Court Appearances
: Observing and possibly participating in court proceedings, when applicable. - Administrative Tasks
: Supporting general administrative tasks, including filing, scheduling meetings, and document management.
