The Opportunity

This is not a typical analyst role where you support senior bankers with Excel modeling and pitch deck formatting. We are looking for a high-potential professional to serve as a core member of our investment team with significant ownership over deal execution, client relationships, and business building.​

You will:

Deal Execution & Structuring

• Lead end-to-end execution of private markets transactions across asset-backed credit, structured notes, infrastructure equity, and growth equity deals​
• Build sophisticated financial models including 3-statement models, LBO analyses, credit waterfall models, and asset-backed security structures​
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence across financial, commercial, legal, and operational dimensions​
• Coordinate with service providers including legal counsel, trustees, custodians, insurance providers, and auditors to structure and close transactions​
• Prepare investment materials including pitch books, investment memoranda, term sheets, and IC presentations​

Investor Relations & Capital Raising

• Support fundraising efforts by preparing LP materials and responding to due diligence inquiries​
• Participate in investor meetings with Limited Partners to present deal structures and field technical questions​
• Build and maintain investor reporting systems for portfolio monitoring​

Deal Origination & Business Development

• Assist with deal sourcing through industry research, target identification, and market mapping across sectors​
• Prepare pitch materials for potential portfolio companies and co-investment partners​
• Support relationship development with corporates, financial sponsors, and intermediaries​

Portfolio Management

• Monitor portfolio companies and credit investments, including covenant compliance and performance tracking​
• Prepare quarterly updates on portfolio performance for internal review and LP reporting​

Client & Partner Engagement

• Meet with domestic and international clients, partners, and service providers (both virtually and in-person) to advance transactions​
• Represent the firm in professional settings with confidence and judgment​
• Coordinate cross-border transactions across time zones and jurisdictions​

What Makes You the Right Fit

Required Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, private credit, corporate finance, asset management, or Big 4 transaction services​
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related quantitative field from a recognized university​
• CFA Level 1 passed (minimum); CFA Level 2 or Level 3 highly advantageous​
• Advanced financial modeling skills with demonstrated ability to build complex Excel-based models independently​
• Credit analysis experience (structured finance, asset-backed securities, or corporate credit) strongly preferred given immediate pipeline needs​
• Strong academic record demonstrating intellectual capability and work ethic​

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in financial statement analysis, with ability to identify key drivers, risks, and value creation opportunities​
• Valuation expertise across DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and credit-specific methodologies​
• Due diligence capabilities including commercial, financial, and risk assessment​
• Advanced Excel including complex formulas, data manipulation, scenario analysis, and model auditing​
• PowerPoint proficiency for creating institutional-quality investment materials​
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, CapIQ, or similar financial data platforms​

Bonus Qualifications (Not Required but Highly Valued):

• Experience with multiple asset classes (credit + equity; public + private)​
• Sector expertise in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, industrials, or technology​
• Exposure to African markets beyond South Africa​
• Additional languages (French, Portuguese, German, or other European/African languages)​
• CA(SA), CPA, or advanced degree (MBA, MFin, MCom)​
