A leading financial services group is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, IFRS implementation, and supporting actuarial and insurance accounting processes within a highly regulated environment.

This opportunity is ideal for an individual with strong technical expertise in IFRS standards, advanced Excel skills, and a proven ability to manage complex financial data and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and company policies.
  • Support IFRS 17 and related insurance accounting implementation and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with actuarial and finance teams to align data models and valuation methodologies.
  • Maintain and configure accounting systems and general ledgers (e.g., Sage Evolution).
  • Develop and maintain advanced financial models and spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with corporate governance principles.
  • Present financial insights and communicate complex technical information to non-financial stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Actuarial Science.
  • Professional accounting qualification or membership with a recognised accounting body (strongly preferred).
  • Postgraduate Diploma or Certification in IFRS or insurance accounting (advantageous).
  • 3–5 years' experience in financial reporting or accounting.
  • At least 1–2 years' experience in an IFRS implementation or insurance environment.
  • In-depth understanding of IFRS measurement models (GMM, PAA, and VFA).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong financial modelling ability.
  • Experience working with accounting systems and general ledger configuration.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professional conduct.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transport.
