Role Description

This is a contract role for a Migration Engineer in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area, with the flexibility of some remote work and on-site work. The Migration Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as performing data migrations, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating on software development projects. The engineer will also manage database-related tasks and contribute to infrastructure management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrate content and configurations from SharePoint 2010/2016 to SharePoint Online.
  • Rebuild workflows and forms using
    Power Apps
    and
    Power Automate
    .
  • Ensure
    data integrity
    ,
    security
    , and
    compliance
    throughout the migration.
  • Configure migration tools to support version history, metadata, permissions, and user mappings.
  • Generate
    migration readiness reports
    , error logs, and post-migration validation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical leads to meet delivery milestones.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Experience in Data Migration processes and best practices
  • Software Development skills
  • Working knowledge of Databases
  • Background in managing IT Infrastructure
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience in SharePoint services and Office 365 is a plus
