Security Officer - Dog Handler

A security officer must be well-trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation.

The goal is to help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping facilities safe and problem-free.

The use of a patrol dog provides a higher level of protection to the client as well as the dog handler. Patrol dog's acts as a pre-warning to potential criminals. Patrol dogs are very effective in the tracking and arresting of suspects. Dog handlers must act responsible when a patrol dog is used to apprehend a suspect. No excessive force may be used to apprehend a suspect. If a suspect doesn't resist, a dog may not assist.

Minimum requirements:

  • Psira C Grade – registered and up to date
  • Grade 12
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Dog Handler qualification advantageous.
  • Passion to work with dogs.
  • Reside in Somerset West/Strand/Macassar area as staff transport is provided.

Remuneration will be discussed.
