Financial Director

The Financial Director is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing and managing the financial strategy, planning, and operations of the organization. The FD ensures the company's financial health while driving profitability, optimizing costs, managing risks, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of finance within a manufacturing environment, including inventory management, production costs, capital investments, and regulatory compliance.RequirementsQualifications and Experience: • Chartered Accountant (CA)SA• Master's in Business Administration or Finance(advantageous). • Experience handling multi -entity financial structures across African markets is beneficial. • 10+ years of experience in finance in a senior leadershiprole.• Experience managing large budgets, multi -site operations,and global financial processes.• Strong ability to link financial strategies to operationaland strategic goals.• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with theability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Key Responsibilities:Financial Strategy and Leadership:• Develop and implement financial strategies to support thecompany's business goals and long -term growth.• Collaborate with executive leadership and management teamsto define and execute strategic initiatives.• Provide financial insights to drive decision -making,improve profitability, and achieve operational efficiency.• Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment withbusiness objectives.• Identify opportunities to optimize financial performanceand implement best -in -class financial practices.• Oversee financial systems, protocols, controls, andstrategies. Financial Planning and Analysis:• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuringclarity, alignment, and precision.• Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analysis,and present actionable insights to leadership.• Analyze manufacturing cost drivers and identifyopportunities for cost reduction.• Evaluate capital investment projects, ensuring alignmentwith financial objectives and ROI targets. Financial Operations and Reporting:• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting incompliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS,GAAP).• Oversee all accounting functions, including accountspayable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.• Manage cash flow across the organization, ensuringliquidity and optimal resource allocation.• Oversee tax and financial compliance requirements.• Provide oversight on working capital management andcapital allocation strategies. Risk Management and Compliance:• Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currencyfluctuations, interest rate risks, and market volatility.• Establish and maintain a robust internal control frameworkto safeguard company assets.• Ensure compliance with legal and tax regulations,including the Companies Act.• Oversee internal and external audits, addressing anyfindings promptly. Cost and Inventory Management:• Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including labour,materials, and overhead.• Work closely with operations teams to optimize inventorylevels and reduce waste.• Analyze cost variances and implement corrective measuresto improve profitability. Team Leadership and Development:• Build and lead a high -performing finance team, fostering aculture of accountability and excellence.• Provide mentorship and professional developmentopportunities for team members.• Collaborate cross -functionally with operations, sales, andsupply chain teams to align financial goals with operational priorities. Strategic Growth and M&A Activities:• Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnershipsto support business expansion.• Lead due diligence and financial integration or separationfor new acquisitions or disposals.• Drive funding initiatives, including equity financing,debt financing, or partnerships.• Prepare reports and presentations for investors, ensuringtransparency and trust in financial performance and growth. Technology and Systems Optimization:• Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization offinancial software and ERP systems.• Drive digital transformation initiatives to improvefinancial and operational efficiency.• Leverage data analytics tools to enhance decision -makingand reporting capabilities. Technical Skills:• Expertise in financial planning, forecasting, andanalysis.• Strong understanding of manufacturing costing methods(e.g., standard costing, activity -based costing).• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and regulatorystandards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).• Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software (e.g.,SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Syspro,  Sage, Xero).• Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and dataanalysis Benefits Salary and benefits, negotiable based on experience and qualifications
