Coordinator - Mechanical Workshop

Coordinates the effective utilization of all resources (financial, materials and manpower etc.) to ensure the safe and efficient execution of maintenance to Refinery Rotating Equipment assets. Ensures that the highest industry standards are met through following Astron Energy procedures and manufacturers specification. Ensures work is carried out in such a way as to meet the scheduling, quality and safety requirements and to maximize refinery availability. Performs technical validations/ evaluations of proposed improvements required to improve the reliability, availability, and maintainability of rotating equipment's.
Executes Loss Prevention System (LPS) Supervisor Stewardship functions which includes Loss Prevention Self-Assessment (LPSA) audits, Loss Prevention Observations (LPOs), Loss Prevention Investigations (LPIs) and Near Loss Investigations (NLI).
Fosters and promotes Incident & Injury Free (IIF) behaviors within the workgroup.
Ensures schedule attainment through the management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Emergency Work Orders (EWO) and Backlogs. Communicates progress timeously to stakeholders. Keeps up-to-date with new technologies/methodologies, including API specifications relating to Rotating Equipment.
Directs and supervises Astron Energy and contractor work teams. Exhibits strong leadership skills to optimize team performance.
Manages individual performance through the Astron Energy Performance Management Process (PMP).
Identifies individual development needs for workgroup members and ensure implementation. Ensures that corporate compliance requirements are met. Assume a pivotal role in the development of Rotating Equipment Artisans by Coaching and Mentoring so that they are able to carry out their duties to a high standard.
Provide authoritative technical subject matter expertise in Rotating Equipment Engineering for industrial process plant rotating equipment infrastructure. Should be a recognized expert in the field. Support and participate in RCA, and investigation of site rotating equipment failures and deficiencies.
Provide support to all departments Filed Mechanical Maintenance and Operation teams. This includes knowing when to communicate to management, what communication is appropriate to a particular level of management, and what direction is required for decision on a path forward. Ensure compliance with Company, industry, and regulatory requirements. Support the Change Management Process, with safety focus as the top priority.
Accountable for the input to and control of the annual budget related to this position.
Identifies individual development needs for workgroup members and ensure implementation. Ensures that corporate compliance requirements are met.
Effectively communicate and participate using a regular management briefing sessions and provide timeous feedback.
Interface with other departments to implement operational and facility improvement initiatives promoting teamwork and collaboration at all times.
Financial Perspective
Adherence to internal procurement procedures
Understand the business plan and support financial initiatives.
Support lead with input regarding budgeting forecasting.
Customer Perspective
Must be able to work with conflicting priorities within Site Operations Team.
Must be able to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines/target
Perform a regular audit on all HSE standards and procedures (LOTO, PTW, JHA, MOC, ERP) implemented in the field and documented correctly.
Ensure that the change management process is followed and fully complied with for all changes in the facilities for Process and Non-process areas.
Internal Processes
Participate in AIM, MOC etc.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis, and participate in Process Hazard Analysis
Limit HES incidents. Stay below agreed TRIR target
People Management
Set up initial PMP with sub-ordinates and have at least 3 follow up sessions to track progress.
Manage individual performance in consultation with Lead and Human Resources.
Professional Qualification and Certifications: N3 Red Seal as a minimum qualification and N6 Red Seal would be an advantage
Work Experience: 10+ years' experience as a Rotating Equipment Fitter within the Petrochemical/Oil and Gas Industry.
Knowledge and skills: Detailed knowledge of the Refinery plant and processes.
Rotating Equipment knowledge and experience including Pumps, Steam Turbines, PSV's Reciprocating and Turbo Compressors include auxiliary systems.
