VACANCY: ITALIAN CATERING MANAGER WITH CHEF EXPERIENCE CATERING WITH CHEF EXPERIENCE – SODEXO SOUTH AFRICA

Location: Old Age Home Site

Reports to: General Services Manager

· Sodexo is looking for an experienced Italian Catering Manager with Chef experience to oversee all catering operations on-site.

· The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional service, maintain strong operational control, and uphold high quality food standards for our residents and clients.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS — NON-NEGOTIABLE

· Italian Cuisine experience – MUST HAVE

· Mediterranean Cuisine experience – MUST HAVE

· Italian-speaking – MUST HAVE

· Old Age Home / Home Environment experience – MUST HAVE

· Strong background in catering operations, stock management, menu planning, and customer service

· Ability to manage staff, ensure compliance, and maintain high hygiene and safety standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Oversee day-to-day catering operations and staff

· Ensure excellent customer service and prompt handling of resident/client feedback

· Manage stock: ordering, receiving, issuing, storage, rotation, and stock takes

· Plan and compile menus, including cycle menus

· Must have previous experience cooking authentic Italian dishes

· Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene (HACCP compliance)

· Ensure proper administration, recording, and reporting

· Control purchasing, margins, recipes, cash/till procedures, and debtor processes

· Coordinate with unit management, residents, and Sodexo teams

· Support with functions and cover other Sodexo units when required

WORKING HOURS

As per shift roster, including weekends, as per operational requirements.
