Our client is seeking a Pack Driver who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of fuel products between depots, distribution points and client locations. This role requires adherence to strict safety standards, regulatory compliance, The individual in this role will also assist in loading/unloading oil and lubricant products supporting the overall logistics team in achieving operational goals. A strong understanding of safety procedures, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and delivery of the product in question to respective clients.
- Daily vehicle inspection.
- Take full responsibility for the company vehicle in terms of presentation, tidiness and roadworthiness, as well as adhering to standard road safety regulations.
- Deliver excellent customer service
Attributes:
- Physical strength and endurance with the ability to lift items that weigh approximately 50kg during the process of loading and off-loading.
- The ability to function as part of a team.
- Adequate knowledge of the geographical area for navigation purposes.
- Must be willing to work overtime.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to function well under pressure.
- Must be willing to work throughout public holidays when necessary.
Requirements:
- Code 10 driver's license is mandatory where Code 14 is advantageous.
- Valid Convey Dangerous Goods Certificate
- Sober habits and clean criminal record – also need to pass honesty test.
- Excellent communication in both English and Afrikaans.
- 5 years previous driving experience.
- Reliable transport is a must to ensure punctuality.
- Previous fuel or bulk liquid experience, although not a requirement, will count in your favour.
- Grade 12/ Standard 10.
