Are you passionate about storytelling and ready to turn your marketing theory into real-world impact? Sweepsouth is looking for a Marketing Intern to join our dynamic Marketing team on a 2 month contract basis. This role is perfect for someone with a keen interest in brand communication and a flair for writing across different formats, from blogs and newsletters to social media and in-app copy.

You'll work closely with our marketing and brand teams to bring the Sweepsouth voice to life across multiple channels. Expect to learn fast, contribute meaningfully, and see your work make a visible impact on South Africa's leading home services brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Development:

● Assist with content writing: write clear, engaging, and on-brand copy for various platforms: blog articles, email newsletters, website pages, and social media.

● Adapt messaging to suit the platform and audience segment.

● Assist with drafting and editing brand stories, interviews, and campaign copy that reflect the Sweepsouth tone of voice.

● Understand audience segments and how to speak differently to each segment.

Marketing Support:

● Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute the marketing campaigns across channels.

● Support campaign rollouts by assisting in writing copy and captions for posts, emails, and promotional materials.

● Conduct research on trends, keywords, and topics relevant to home services, lifestyle, and customer engagement.

● Write blogs for the Sweepsouth blog, representing strong storytelling and SEO needs into one.

Brand Consistency:

● Maintain Sweepsouth's tone of voice across all communication.

● Assist in proofreading and quality checks to ensure high editorial standards.

Learning and Growth:

● Gain hands-on experience in brand storytelling, campaign content, and copywriting strategy.

● Receive mentorship and feedback from experienced marketers.

● Learn how performance metrics, open rates, engagement, and clicks inform content decisions.

Requirements:

● Recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

● Strong writing and editing skills with a good understanding of grammar, structure, and tone.

●  Familiarity with digital platforms: social media, blogs, newsletters, and web.

●  Curiosity about marketing communication, branding, and consumer behaviour.

●  Organised, proactive, and eager to learn.

●  Creative thinker with attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.

●  An understanding of SEO basics or content analytics highly advantageous.
