WAUW Architects
is seeking a full-time
Project Architect (Pr.Arch/M.Arch)
with minimum 3-5 years' post-qualification experience to join our team in Gardens, Cape Town. In this role, you will work closely with the directors to lead projects from concept to completion.

Responsibilities include architectural design, project management, preparing submittals, ensuring compliance with building regulations, and liaising with clients and consultants. You'll also be expected to integrate sustainable design practices and utilize BIM tools for project development.

WAUW is a Cape Town-based architectural practice founded in 2014 by Eric van den Berg and Erik Janse van Rensburg. Our work spans new builds, renovations, interior architecture, and 3D visualization services. We specialize in residential apartment blocks, retail spaces, and homes, offering comprehensive architectural services from conceptualization to construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project design development and technical delivery, ensuring quality and compliance with SANS 10400 standards.
  • Create and modify architectural designs and BIM models.
  • Undertake design, documentation, and BIM coordination.
  • Prepare technical drawings, reports, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure delivery excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow internal quality procedures.
  • Engage in strategic growth initiatives and business development when required.
  • Manage design challenges and provide innovative solutions.
  • Conduct client liaison and maintain positive relationships.
  • Work on-site as needed for information gathering and project verification.

Requirements

  • BArch / MArch degree or equivalent.
  • Pr.Arch professional registration with SACAP is essential.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' post-qualification experience across all project stages, with a focus on Residential and Commercial projects (experience in multi-unit residential apartment buildings is an advantage)
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM 3D modeling (non-negotiable).
  • Strong knowledge of SANS 10400 national building regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of duties, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resilience under pressure.
  • Own transport and a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work full-time in the Gardens, Cape Town office, with future hybrid work possibilities.
  • Experience with Enscape, SketchUp, Twinmotion, and Photoshop (advantageous).
