Role Purpose

The Finance Processing Clerk is responsible for managing both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure accurate, timeous, and high-volume financial processing. This includes high-volume invoice processing, reconciliations, collections, payment scheduling, and maintaining accurate financial records to support healthy cashflow and minimise financial risk. The role plays a critical part in reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), leveraging early payment opportunities, and contributing directly to the company's financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Debtors (Accounts Receivable)

• Capture and generate invoices and credit notes accurately and on time.
• Process large transaction volumes daily with precision.
• Match and allocate customer payments accurately.
• Monitor age analysis, follow up on overdue accounts, and escalate problematic accounts.
• Distribute monthly statements and perform reconciliations.
• Maintain professional customer relationships to resolve queries promptly.

Creditors (Accounts Payable)

• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and contracts.
• Process supplier payments within agreed terms to avoid penalties and secure discounts.
• Reconcile creditor statements monthly and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the ERP/accounting system.
• Assist with cashflow forecasting by providing updated payment schedules.

Reporting & Compliance

• Generate weekly and monthly debtor and creditor ageing reports.
• Ensure accurate documentation for audits and compliance.
• Collaborate with program and finance teams to validate revenue recognition and flag variances.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to streamline collections and payments.

Skills & Competencies Required

• Exceptional attention to detail with zero tolerance for errors.

• Fast and accurate data processing capability for high-volume transactions.

• Capacity to process large volumes of transactions efficiently.

• Strong numerical and reconciliation skills.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, or equivalent).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including reconciliations and reporting, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables etc).
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and vendors.
• Analytical mindset with ability to forecast and interpret financial impacts.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Matric with Accounting/Mathematics (Diploma in Accounting or Finance advantageous).
• 2–3 years' experience in a combined debtors and creditors role.
• Experience in service-based or high-volume financial environments preferred.
• Proven ability to manage debtor portfolios and creditor ledgers.

Pay: R15 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month
