PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Divisional CFO is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership and execution of all financial activities within the division, including Financial Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Reporting, Risk Management, JSE IFRC requirements, Commercial Management and Compliance. In addition, the role oversees the divisional Information Technology (IT) function, ensuring technology alignment with business goals, and provides governance over IT General Controls (ITGC) to meet regulatory, audit, and security standards.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Strategic Financial Leadership


• Provide Financial Direction and support to Divisional CEO and Exec Team


• Develop long term financial strategies aligned to divisions objectives


• Drive profitability, cost optimization and value creation

  1. Financial Planning Analysis, Cost & Management Accounting and Reporting


• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, half year reports and annual financial statements


• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning


• Monitor Key financial metrics & operational KPI's



Implementing and maintaining a strong internal financial control environment

  1. Financial Controls (IFRC), Compliance & Risk Management


• Establish and Maintain effective IFRC frameworks to support financial integrity


• Ensure strong internal controls and financial governance


• Ensure compliance with international and local statutory regulations


• Support internal and external audit processes


• Identity & mitigate financial & operational risks

  1. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement


• Act as a strategic partner to divisional and group executives


• Engage with global and regional stake holder to align policies and business strategies


• Support investment decisions

  1. Oversight of Information Technology (IT)


• Lead divisional IT Function, ensuring development & execution of IT strategy


• Ensure appropriate use of Technology to improve efficiency


• Oversee enterprise system integration, digital transformation projects and infrastructure management


• Collaboration with Group IT and Cybersecurity team

  1. IT Governance and ITGC (IT General Control)


• Establish & Maintain effective ITGC framework


• Monitor effective access controls, change management & System development life cycles back-up and recovery processes


• Co-ordinate internal audit IT Security & External auditors


• Drive cybersecurity initiates with Group IT

  1. People Leadership and Development


• Lead, mentor and develop Finance, Cost & Management, Commercial and IT teams


• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovative and continuous improvement


• Drive Transformation & upskilling initiatives

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS


• Matric/ Grade 12


• Relevant Financial / Accounting Degree


• Chartered Accountant (CA)SA, CFA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.


• MBA/MBL or Masters in related field will be an advantage


• Minimum 10–15 years' progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a multinational and/or complex matrix environment.


• Minimum 5 years in an Executive Leadership role with exposure to business strategy, financial planning, and operational leadership.


• Strong track record of managing large teams and working across cultures and geographies.


• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, IFRC financial control frameworks and accounting standards/principles, laws and best practices


• Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting


• Proficient in the use of MS Office, ERP systems and financial management software (e.g., SAP)


• An analytical mind with a strategic ability


• Proven experience overseeing IT and understanding of ITGC frameworks, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.
