Job Description
The
Senior
Specialist Regulatory & Compliance
role provides support to the Inclusion & Diversity Manager to coordinate and monitor the company's transformation plans and ensure integration of transformation targets across various regulatory bodies. The role's aim is to achieve an equitable and representative workforce.
Job Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
- Safety: Create a safety culture through productive and authorized operational systems/processes that allow all employees (including contracting partners) to provide their outputs in a risk-controlled environment. Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
- Performance and Delivery:
- Partner with key People& Organisation leads i.e., talent acquisition, learning and development and talent management to support and guide on strategies that aid in achieving company's transformation targets.
- Ensure an integrated approach to target setting is adopted to drive the achievement of targets set by various regulatory bodies.
- Support operations in the development of Employment Equity plans and devise a consolidated a company-wide plan
- Prepare & submit annual reports to the Department of labour and other legislative bodies i.e., BBBEE
- Play an advisory role at Central Employment Equity Committee and to various parties to ensure compliance with the Employment Equity Act
- Trains people and organisation teams and line leaders on new regulatory amendments to help drive transformation and compliance requirements
- Partners with the Data and Analytics to develop and implement monitoring tools to ensure integration of data and compliance to the Employment Equity plan, Social and Labour Plans, BBBEE
- Monthly and quarterly reporting on progress against Valterra's transformation plan
- Develop reporting templates that help sites in tracking and monitoring their plans
- Contribute to policy development and ensure Valterra remains abreast of legislative changes on transformation
- Execute projects to meet transformation targets according to the Labour Department.
- Plan, develop, and facilitate the implementation of transformation programs and strategies.
- Interpret data, prepare reports to profile the effectiveness of tranformation programs and provide recommendations for improvement to enable leaders to improve equity and representation in the workplace.
- People & Teams:
- Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.
- Assist with diversity analytics, including benchmarking, tracking metrics, analysing and generating reporting to highlight trends and demonstrate impact of tranformation and compliance programs/initiatives.
- Review the organisations workplace, policies and procedures, ensuring that these are all inclusive
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements.
Qualifications
- NQF 7 Bachelors degree/BTech in Human Resources or an equivalent relevant qualification.
Experience
- 5 -7 years' relevant experience
Technical Knowledge And Skills Required For Role
- Proven experience in implementing regulatory compliance and transformation initiatives.
- Mining or related industry experience advantageous
- Advanced knowledge of transformation (regulatory Compliance).
- Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced level of report writing skills
- Analytical and reporting skills
- Proficient in organizing, planning and coordination skills
- Proficient in persuasion and conflict management skills
- Proficient in negotiation skills
- Advanced computer literacy
