We're now seeking a Business Unit Leader – Networking to head up our S2 Department, which is responsible for all networking, firewall, WiFi, and internet solutions across our client base.

This is a hybrid technical and leadership role — perfect for a seasoned network professional ready to lead a team, drive operational excellence, and take ownership of a critical business unit within a fast-growing MSP.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the Networking Unit (S2)
    — managing engineers, prioritizing workloads, and ensuring SLA-driven delivery.
  • Design, implement, and optimize
    complex network infrastructures (LAN/WAN, WiFi, Firewalls, Internet).
  • Oversee client environments
    for uptime, redundancy, performance, and security — targeting 99.9%+ availability.
  • Own client relationships
    for all networking-related services — including onsite visits, reviews, and technical consultations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
    with the Server, Cloud, and Support Units to ensure seamless IT delivery.
  • Enforce compliance and best practices
    in cybersecurity, documentation, and change management.
  • Drive performance and accountability
    through reporting, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop your team
    , ensuring professional growth and technical excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Network Engineering, with proven leadership or team management exposure.
  • Deep technical understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and firewall technologies.
  • Proficiency with MikroTik, FortiGate, Cisco, and Ubiquiti network environments.
  • Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., LibreNMS, FortiCloud, UniFi Controller).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, FortiGate Administrator, CompTIA Network+/Security+) are a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, client engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must reside in the Greater Cape Town Area, with a valid driver's license and own vehicle (onsite client visits required).
