Job Title: Senior Event Chef

Location: Randburg, Johannesburg

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Chef with a strong background in large-scale event catering, including weddings, corporate functions and private events. The ideal candidate must be highly skilled in high-volume kitchen operations and capable of maintaining exceptional food quality under pressure.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional chef experience, specifically within event catering or banqueting
  • Must reside in or near Randburg (reliable transport essential)
  • Proven ability to work long and flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Strong knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and presentation for large events
  • Experience working with diverse clientele and dietary requirements
  • Excellent leadership, time management, and kitchen coordination skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and execute menus for high-volume events
  • Lead and supervise kitchen team during service
  • Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with event coordinators to meet client needs and timelines
  • Manage stock, food costs, and kitchen safety procedures
